MIGP 2005
15th June
Training begins. I went to fetch Sai Seng around 1.15. On the way to PWTC, Sai Seng told me that he lied to his mom that I came back from UK recently and I fetched him to MV. Hahaha lol at him. Once we arrived, I asked SS to call Ryan. He said Ryan is already arrived and he is in the organizer room. We went there and Ryan asked us to help him to tear out the water label. When I looked at the bottle, I smiled because that was the old stock from ABA PWTC. I dunno if those water have expired or not. Then Ryan told me that the 3 staff sitting there is from Top Repute Hong Kong. 2 girls and 1 guy. 2 Hong Kong girls is very chun, but I don’t know their names. Nvm about that.
Later, Katherine saw me and she was shock that I have looked different. Hehe, after I finished tearing the old ABA label, Kevin and Michael arrived. We talked for a while and Katherine asked us all to go to the hall and brief us. All of the temp-staff were once ABA PWTC and MVEC people except for one new girl called “Kay Yen” if I got the spelling right. Katherine has divided us 15 people into 2 groups. Group 2 and Group 3. Group 1 only existed for the first day to help the organize to greet the VIPs. While Group 2 is to help the registration. Group 2 will need to co-operate with MSCI which is a software development company. They will need to help with the data-entry stuff. Ryan was appointed as the leader for group 2.
While group 3 is an internal group. Their scope is to do spot check the main entrance security guard to see whetever those visitor coming in are with tags. The second scope is to distribute gift to the visitors. We have to get their names down and stamp their tags. We are also responsible to maintain the exhibitor lounge. We have to become bartender and serve the exhibitor with drinks and foods. I am appointed as the leader. It was so shock for me to know that I have to take this responsibility. Katherine said “Give you a chance to be a leader”. Yea, that kinda chance, thankz…
Then Katherine walked us around the hall. After that, we all were asked to learn how to use the registration system. A MSCI staff called Li Ping teaches us how to use the system. Later a guy called Duncan also assisted her. Leonard, the MSCI boss also has to “1 man show” in this event. Anyway, the Li Ping is like a male-girl. Short hair, flat chested and not that girlish girl :p.
We all left and have dinner in McD. Dota 1 round at night.
16th June
Last night, I have prepared a schedule for my entire subordinate. They consist of Batista, Chip, Lee Jia and Jenny. The men have decided that the girl needs not to work at the entrance. So, they will only rotate between Gift Counter and Exhibitor Lounge. But those plans did not run well because I think the entrance does not need anyone to sit there all day long. So, it will be just me running around to spot check them once a while.
I was asked to bring 2 people to help Hilary. Since Lee Jia and Jenny are doing the gift and stock check with Rita, so I bring Chip and Batista with me. I page Hilary. She is the new marketing executive for Top Repute. At first I thought she was a HK girl also. Consider as a chun chick in our ISO standards. She asked me to help with the poster and wiping the showcase. I assign Chip to help Hilary and I went with Batista to do the poster.
Later, the VIP arrived and Group 3 has to serve the VIPs. Nuthing much. Suddenly Group 3 have become something like waiter and waitress where we have to do those job like wiping table, serve tea, and bla bla bla.
Have dinner at McD again but Katherine gave us a box of KFC. So we just ordered drink. We were talking about those pretty babes in our workplace. I found out that Hilary was a Malaysian and the 2 HK babes are called Queenie and Vivian. We all plan to “hitch” them :p. Dota 1 round again that night.
17th June
I became obsessed with the leader job. By tomorrow, the leadership will be taken by Batista. I asked him to switch with me. He said ok and I will ask Katherine about this. Queenie and Vivian came to the lounge to have lunch. That time I was also having lunch. Ok, “hitching” begins. Joke around with her and somehow got a topic which both are common to talk about. I said I was studying in UK and I met some HK people with different Cantonese tone. She said that she studied in UK also, Leicester. Then I asked her MSN. Gave her my pda and asked her to write it down. V(^_^). But too bad that I am too busy to layan her because Katherine is around and I have to do my job.
Since I have the walkie talkie, I have the opportunity to kacau Hilary also :p. Then start hitching her and got her MSN as well. But too bad she forgot the friendster, nvm, I still got time.
Everyday at 4pm, it is considered as HAPPY HOUR, where all the booth big bosses will come to our lounge and have beer. Yea, BEER. We have to serve beer. The hall is closing at 6pm but their wont leave until they got “satisfaction”. Still they have to leave, else the hall will be locked.
Katherine said that the grouping will be resuming like normal, no changing. Hehe, got my leadership back :p. Have dinner at Steven’s Corner and fetch Ryan and Batista back.
18th June
Just found out that the HK babes will be leaving by today, and around 6pm. Shiiitt…haven’t took picture with them also. But I am too busy to find them also. Got some matter to attend. Furthermore, today got comment from Katherine that I didn’t wear my jacket, and my hair was not professional enough, also the lounge was not tidy enough.
Went to the office and take some carton of beer to the lounge, beer is very fast moving item. Saw both Queenie and Vivian. But they are busy also, just got a chance to ask her for the friendster. I said I haven’t take picture with you. She said she will be back. But she didn’t…I am so down…both Vivian and Queenie have depart to KLIA. Darn, should have taken their picture yesterday. Didn’t have time to hitch Vivian also…I am so down…
Still job have to be done. Today I have to serve Red Wine. Red Wine also very sellable, those people see red wine all also wanna try. Then those people again dun wan to leave. During Happy Hour, all those bosses will loiter in our lounge and drink beer. I forgot how I “shoo” them. But they leave eventually.
Went to the office and wait for my frens in Group 2, still doing some leave over jobs. Told Rita that I am so down because those HK girls went home without picturing with them. Nah, later asked Hilary for her friendster, but she forgot again. Nevermind. Dinner at Stevens Corner again and Dota 1 round again.
19th June
Last day in MIGP. Today it will only open till 4.30pm. I go and told the big bosses about the early closing and tell them to HAPPY HOUR early. My plan is finish distribute all the beers and wine, so we no need to carry those things down :p.
After the event, we got our salary in cash and we took some picture before we leave. Then we blanja Katherine and Jeffrey. We had our dinner in Jalan Raja Laut. Bak Kut Teh. That place is filling with “aqua”. See one girl, from behind, the shape is nice but when I see the front, almost wanted to puke.
